On July 22, Fashion Popcorn converges with the real world, as we host a face-to-face digital fashion salon at the splendid Centre Space and Terrace at London College of Fashion.

There, we said it, so now we’re definitely committed(!).  Myself, Harriet Fleuriot, and Constance Fleuriot - aka Featherhouse - will present a view on the opportunities the evolving digital landscape presents to fashionistas.  We have the splendid support of Shooting People, and LCF, as well as the wonderful Roma Vaccaro to help make it happen.

We’ll have a live pervasive media showcase, as well as a panel discussion and Q&A session, with the aim that it should be digitally-thought provoking, digestible and fun.

We are very excited to have so far confirmed speakers Tim Kindberg, of Matter2Media, showcasing his current project, Krstl, still in research and development (R&D). Joining Tim will be emerging film-maker Kathryn Ferguson, who has been steadily establishing her reputation as a film-maker within the fashion and wider cultural spheres, while simultaneously curating the fashion strand of Bird’s Eye View Film Festival

We see technology as a tool to be creative and have fun with, and want to play a role in debunking the geek myths and getting the fashion world excited beyond the obvious ‘blog ‘n’ tweet’ route. Hope to see some of you there – watch this space for updates.
