Ooo. I’d spot that angsty curled lip (and freckle) any day. Gossip Girl is a not-so-secret guilty pleasure of mine, so I recognised Taylor Momsen in an instant. The first preview pics of the teen actor/wannabe punk as face of Material Girl have been unveiled. The new teen fashion line from Madonna and her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes Leon launches in Macy’s on August 3.
Thirteen-year-old Lourdes is Creative Director of the line, which works the Madonna 80s look to a tee, and is blogging her experience on her own website. The digital age has made such a huge difference to how teens live out their formative adult years. When I was 14 I caused a minor furore by writing about anarchy in an independent school-zine I started up (all about photocopying in those days!) – just one of my various early publishing attempts – imagine if I’d been able to get my hands on t’internet…
