Matter2Media's Krstl mannequin at Fashion Popcorn: July 22, 2010

After a long summer daydreaming, we’ve concocted not just one, but two further Fashion Popcorn digital fashion salons for the coming months. Well, it wouldn’t be right to make it too easy now, would it?!

Encounters, Bristol’s prestigious international short film festival, has invited us to participate in their forthcoming programme, and, no poker faces here, we’re excited. This week we confirmed our slot on the schedule; an early evening on November 18, hosted at creative-digital hub, Pervasive Media Studio. Ably assisted for a second time by Tim Kindberg, our second event, Fashion Popcorn at Encounters, aims to draw the festival’s delegates and our favourite west country city’s creative contingent into a collaborative conversation on digital fashion film futures. It’s not all about the Big Smoke, y’know.

The Krstl mannequin will be back, in all her interactive glory, complemented by a mini fashion film showcase which picks up on the questions thrown up at our launch back in July. There’ll also be an opportunity for a good ol’ fashioned face-to-face chinwag, as well as to sneak-a-peak at the Pervasive Media Studio in action. The final ingredients are just being sourced, so more details tba.

We’re also planning something bootiful for early December, this time back in London – our Christmas spread, as it were – so we’ll sign off with a fervert ‘watch this space’ memo. If you need a little taster of what you can expect, check out our Fashion Popcorn launch showreel, filmed and produced by the fantastic Crispy Duck Productions.

The 16th Encounters International Short Film Festival takes place at various venues across Bristol, November 16-21, 2010.
