An undisputed hot-bed of emerging talent - Wendy Dagworthy, RCA‘s Head of Fashion & Textiles, received an OBE in the new year honours list, such is her contribution to the fashion industry – tomorrow sees the prestigious post-grad college fling open its doors to the always-inspirational Work in Progress exhibition.
A great opportunity to view, literally, work in progress from Fashion & Textiles, Gold- and Silver-smithing, Metalwork & Jewellery, and Photography, the show is unique in that it peels back the layers to show the creative processes of the post-grad students – often also working practitioners – making the final degree show this summer all the more compelling.
Complementing the exhibition, up-and-coming film-maker Kathryn Ferguson will be talking, alongside a fashion PhD student, about fashion and the moving image on Thursday, January 13 – see the RCA website for more details. We’ll also be catching up with her at Fashion Popcorn at the Fashion Popcorn digital fashion salon #4 (rsvp@fashionpopcorn.com)
