This Thursday, why not stick it to the commercialised Valentine machine, avoid all those rosy cliches and instead fall in love with some new and exciting fashion moving image? If this sounds like your cup of pink bubbly then head down to Bloomsbury Ballroom on 14th January for London College of Fashion’s Graduate School of Media and Communication’s MA13 Media Pecha Kucha & Film Screening.

Students from LCF’s MA Fashion Media Production and MA Fashion Photography will be presenting their research at a highly visual and engaging event, using the Pecha Kucha 20×20 format followed by a screening of short films, devised, directed and created by the students themselves. The work that has been selected is a mix of documentary, short film, abstract and promo, selected for its narrative and/or visual strength.

Nilgin Yusuf, who heads up the MA Fashion Media Production at LCF explains, “This is the third year that the Graduate school has presented an end of year film screening to celebrate the moving image work that is coming out of our school. The fashion film can be more than just about selling frocks. It can be used to pose questions, present an alternative view or highlight issues. This group of MA fashion film making shows that is able to absorb a range of genres – from documentary to experimental. It also shows a growing confidence around the technologies and the craft of film-making which is a really positive thing for the industry – and the genre as a whole.”

Fashion popcorn will be joining Nilgin to introduce the films and host a Q&A with the filmmakers after the screening. We hope to see you there!
